Guidelines support doctors in their decisions, to ensure optimal medical care for patients.

The systematic action-on recommendations help to achieve greater quality and safety in medicine.

The DGOU Guidelines Secretary

The  Öffnet externen Link in neuem FensterDGOU guidelines secretary organises for regular revision of the guidelines. As such, methodical recommendations based on scientific evidence must be reviewed and adapted. In parallel to this, new guidelines on further clinical topics from the field of orthopaedics and trauma surgery are created.

DGOU is Member of the AWMF

Since 2018 the German Society for Orthopaedics and Trauma (DGOU) is a member of the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany (AWMF) and could therefore create guidelines in diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries in the field of O&U. Most of the guidelines are developed by the parent-associations of the DGOU: the German Society for Orthopaedics and Trauma (DGOOC) and the German Trauma Society (DGU).
