DKOU 2017

With over 11,600 attendees, the DKOU is the most important congress in the field of Orthopaedics and Traumatology in Germany and the largest of its sector in Europe. The congress is hosted by the German Society of Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery (DGOOC), the German Society for Trauma Surgery (DGU) and the Professional Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (BVOU).

The motto

The motto “Movement is Life” [Bewegung ist Leben], illustrates that movement is a fundamental requirement for human health: When joints can be moved less and less, both mobility and quality of life are lost. A loss in mobility can also bring with it other illnesses and disorders.

And so, the motto reflects the many different aspects of the large specialist field of orthopaedics and trauma. Maintaining mobility and recovering lost mobility are the core tasks of O&U.
