Focus

The Deutsche Kniegesellschaft [German Knee Society] (DKG) was founded by trauma surgeons and orthopaedists in the Summer of 2012 in Munich with the aim of forming a professional scientific society for the field of knee surgery.

The DKG aims to promote research, education and advanced training of doctors, therapists and scientists in the field of injuries and diseases of the knee joint. The Society serves to unite trauma surgeons, endoprosthetic practitioners, sport traumatologists, sports medicine specialists and researchers.

With regard to professional policies, the Association is tasked with representing professionals in the public sphere, when dealing with other associations, in politics and when dealing with service providers. This representation extends to the areas of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of injuries, diseases, deformities and degeneration of the knee joint as well as of the periarticular musculoskeletal system.
