The Referat Internationale Angelegenheiten [Department of International Affairs] (RIA) is the shared platform for topics of international interest for the German Society for Orthopaedics and Trauma (DGOU) with its supporting associations, the German Society for Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery (DGOOC) and the German Trauma Society (DGU), as well as the Professional Association for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery (BVOU).
The RIA is conceived as a platform for the exchange and grouping of a variety of contacts on a personal and societal level, for the further development of information exchange between the professional societies and associations with international specialist and umbrella associations through the means of strategic partnerships.
